Everyone now should have their copy of the Event 2010 program, (previously known as Program of Event [POE] but recently Council changed it to just Events...) either digital or if you chose for a paper copy of Dive you should have a paper copy of Events 2010.

It is also on BSAC.com and from Mon/Tues will be on the Regional website to book on to courses http://northscotland.bsac.org so please do book on and remember if you are keen, book on as soon as you can, courses close 2-weeks before or we cancel them if it looks like there is no interest.

... and now for something VERY different.

some of you may know lindsay brown from the club.  she's been working on a short film as part of her art PhD. 

it's best not to explain too much but there is some lovely underwater footage of the HMS Saucy in the Firth of Forth, making up part of her short film.

she is presenting her film "Electric Chair" at an arts festival in Switzerland tonight (22nd october) and has sent me the link to the film.

Hi all... i'm doing some work on the site at the moment. Some work i can do whilst it is live but some may require the site to go offline.

The first key task is complete which is migrating from drupal5 to drupal6. The drupal4 version of this site (around a year ago) used to have the stories and gallery closely integrated but this hasn't worked as i would have liked in drupal5 - for me the problem has been with the gallery module that we've been using... so i'm actively seeking alternatives which will provide a better combination of text content and images.

You can get the current POE at http://northscotland.bsac.org/sdcpoe.asp. If you didn't know there is are mailing lists for north (http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/northscotlandbsac/) and south (http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/southscotland/) Scotland regions. Although we are in the north region you can go to any regions SDC events... you obviously just pay more travel, but quite often south Scotland events are comparable cost wise as we are pretty much in the middle.

I also happen to admin northscotland.bsac.org so if you have problems with it let me know.

5 divers took the RIB out to the isle of May this weekend.  alex& stuart, arno, lindsay and me (chrisS). Big swell on the way over from Anstruther but fanstastic diving in the shelter of the island.  Dived the SE bay with the deep gullies and seals for the frist dive and the wreckage if the Anlaby for a second.  Fantastic couple of dives!  Vis was goo (5-6m) and very bright.
